Who I am and What I do
Summer Kellogg aka Endless Summer
Creative Director, Photographer and Artist
When I’m asked about what type of photography I focus on, I say mostly people. My client’s needs range from images of people or food or a place. Mostly though there’s a human element in my images. Humans interacting with space or each other or with music or with their clothes or with themselves.
I love LOVE natural light. It is the biggest challenge and the most thrilling. Moving with the light. Letting go of the control of artificial lights (although they are so much fun in a different way). Natural light provides all the mood you need to build a compelling story or to wow or inspire people.
My best images are off the cuff. Not scripted. Simply encouraged or waited for.
I used to be self conscious about my age. But now I realize how powerful all my experiences were and are. I haven’t settled so my continued experiences keep feeding me new ways to twist and snap the world. It’s about bringing an understanding, a theory or point of view that must be seen. I don’t know what everyone needs to see today but sometimes they need permission to be themselves or to smile or have a wild moment, even if it’s internal. That’s what I want my images to evoke these days. Not just to be beautiful. Beautiful is boring sometimes. I want to my images to strike. Like a snake.
